Camus writes a critique of a manuscript for a book that the recipient has submitted to him. He goes on to discuss the Nobel prize, which he had recently received: "Lastly remains warmly thanking you for the article concerning the Nobel prize. I was happy that you expressed the paradoxical sadness as it is my sentiment and I am unwilling to speak of it. I have never sought after any honour."
